Top Ten Read Alouds

Top Ten Tuesday at Many Little Blessings

This was a super hard one because we are readers around here and we've had a lot of good experiences with many many books! I'm going to make two different lists.



TOP TEN READ ALOUDS FOR PRESCHOOLERS


Anything by Eric Carle (brown bear, mister seahorse, very hungry caterpillar)

Rainbow Fish

Corduroy (because this was my favorite as a little girl)

(because it's about a homeschool family and they travel around the U.S. and most of the stories are science related)

Magic Treehouse
(it's historical fiction and it's easy for beginners to read after we read it aloud)

Winnie The Pooh

Aesop Fables
(The ant and the grasshopper, The boy who cried wolf, The hare and the tortoise, the lion and the mouse and etc.)

Anything by Dr.Seuss
(Horton hatches an egg, Horton hears a who, The Sneetches, Yertle the Turtle, Did I ever tell you how lucky you are, Oh the places you'll go, The lorax, Daisy Head Mayzie, bartholomew and the oobleck and etc.)

Anne of Green Gables

Anything by Beatrix Potter


Little House Series


The Classics

This was REALLY HARD!

I couldn't put everything down and I'm sure I missed some! These are MY lists. I'm sure the kiddos would give you a whole 'nother list of books. But I find these books the most entertaining, educational and books that help build character.

  1. You're right it is soooo hard to choose only 10. My kids had a hard time, also. One chose 10, the others went over...
