Top Ten Read Alouds
This was a super hard one because we are readers around here and we've had a lot of good experiences with many many books! I'm going to make two different lists.
TOP TEN READ ALOUDS FOR PRESCHOOLERS
Anything by Eric Carle (brown bear, mister seahorse, very hungry caterpillar)
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Curious George series
Corduroy (because this was my favorite as a little girl)

The Classic Fairy Tales (Paul Galdone) such as Henny Penny, Three little pigs, The three bears, The little red hen, The three billy goats gruff, The gingerbread boy, Little red riding hood, and the list goes on...
If you give something a something... a pig a pancake, mouse a cookie, a moose a muffin...
How do dinosars say good night? How do dinosaurs eat their good?
There's a monster at the end of this book
Golden Book Classics (Scruffy, The kitten who thought he was a mouse, The whispering rabbit, Tootle, Old Macdonald had a farm, The shy little kitten and etc.)

TOP TEN READ ALOUDS FOR OLDER KIDS
Book of Mormon and Bible
Wright on Time Series (because it's about a homeschool family and they travel around the U.S. and most of the stories are science related)
Magic Treehouse (it's historical fiction and it's easy for beginners to read after we read it aloud)
Winnie The Pooh
Aesop Fables (The ant and the grasshopper, The boy who cried wolf, The hare and the tortoise, the lion and the mouse and etc.)
Anything by Dr.Seuss (Horton hatches an egg, Horton hears a who, The Sneetches, Yertle the Turtle, Did I ever tell you how lucky you are, Oh the places you'll go, The lorax, Daisy Head Mayzie, bartholomew and the oobleck and etc.)
Anne of Green Gables
Anything by Beatrix Potter
Little House Series
The Classics (Treasure Island, Secret Garden, Black Beauty, Swiss Family Robinson, The wind and the willows)
Lightning Thief Series
Little Bear Series (for the children to read aloud to everyone)
Frog and Toad Series (for the children to read aloud to everyone)
Magic School Bus
Let's read and find out science series
This was REALLY HARD!
I couldn't put everything down and I'm sure I missed some! These are MY lists. I'm sure the kiddos would give you a whole 'nother list of books. But I find these books the most entertaining, educational and books that help build character.
