Mom with the Boys

Chris took the two girls camping for a father daughter camp-out with the church. They had a wonderful time singing by the campfire and making smores. While they were enjoying the outdoors the boys and I had some fun too. It was a great time!

First things first, we played ball! Football, Baseball, and Soccer! It was perfect weather and we had a great time!

Once the boys built up an appetite after the hard play (basically, when the sun went down), we made our own little homemade chicken pot pies and while they were baking we played scrabble. Nephi did a great job with spelling his own words, I was so proud of him! After dinner we went to look at the stars before watching a movie in the living room.

The next day we went to a Bug Festival!

I love my boys and am so happy that we made some wonderful memories!

Learning: Words, Numbers, Journals

I've been trying to encourage Liberty and Harmony to read every thing around them. So, I put labels on every object in the house. We had fun reading the words for a good week. It worked and now they are reading every thing as we drive, run errands and shop.

Harmony has been catching on very quickly with her math work. She had a little hard time knowing the difference between the "one's place" and "ten's place" so we took it to the white board and she got it down! Just look at that proud smile!

All of the kids love journal time. We finished a whole notebook so we started a brand new one. They all decorated their own journal by making a collage on the front cover. The first entry was a self esteem boost and the kids described themselves and why they are special in a poem form.

Power of Play #14

My kids love to play and I love to watch them play!

Celebrating 11 Years of Marriage

One of the greatest blessings in my life is having such a wonderful marriage with a wonderful man. I love my husband so much! The last 11 years have gone by so fast. During the time we have had lots of ups and some downs but we always stick together and lean on each other and our Heavenly Father through it all. I wouldn't want to experience all of the joys in life with anyone else. He is my team mate through everything and I'm so thankful to have him in my life!

Each year we take turns planning our anniversary. I planned a temple trip to do all of the ordinances in the temple for his mama and papa (grandparents on his step-mother's side of the family). We had a wonderful experience and it's something we will never forget. After our temple trip we went to Roper Lake State Park to stay the night in a log cabin. We took a nap, took a hike, went fishing, soaked in a natural hot tub, and cooked dinner and smores over a fire. The next day he taught me how to hit a golf ball...

We had a great time! I can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries with the love of my life and eternity together.

Learning: Book Work, Primary Color Art, Woodpecker

Book Work, Book Work, Book Work. Homeschool is not just fun and games!

They did a great job making their masterpieces only using the primary colors!

We had an educational interruption! A woodpecker came to visit the tree on the side of our house. Very amusing.
